LLM Engineer – Technical Intelligence

Our customer is a technology company focused on Blockchain research and development. We are renowned for our scientific approach to blockchain development, emphasizing peer-reviewed research and formal methods to ensure security, scalability, and sustainability. Our projects include decentralized finance (DeFi), governance, and identity management, aiming to advance the capabilities and adoption of blockchain technology globally.

What the role involves:

You are part of the Technical Intelligence team. The team’s main function is to recon the blockchain industry and feed the company with new trends and projects. The TechInt team has automated the recon process by utilizing a data lake and machine learning (ML). 

You will increase the capabilities of our automated system by exploiting artificial intelligence (AI) and notably large language models (LLMs). You integrate AI and LLMs into our reconnaissance pipeline.

Requirements

Who you are:

• Research and develop predictive intelligence models using AI and LLM to identify early signals of blockchain technological shifts. Your work will translate quantitative signals from open-source developer activity, and protocols popularity and adoption into actionable technical intelligence.
• Combine LLMs for knowledge discovery and symbolic AI for reasoning, to identify limitations and vulnerabilities in competing projects’ design by analyzing them against state-of-the-art references.
• Develop and apply AI models to analyze competitors’ source code, focusing on technical architecture and engineering quality.
• Develop text classification models to categorize blockchain projects.
• Drive customizations of LLMs with RAG from several data sources, including knowledge graph databases and search API, and iteratively experimenting, optimizing, and evaluating LLM metrics.  
• Collaborate with leadership, data engineers, and domain experts to define requirements and align with department strategy and roadmap.
• Deploy, monitor, and continuously optimize AI models in production environments

• Solid critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly grasp any technical field within the rapidly changing AI landscape.
• Solid programming skills covering algorithms, data structures, design patterns, asynchronous programming, and relational databases.
• Solid software development practices covering version control, testing, and continuous integration. 
• Solid foundation in Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Deep Learning (DL).
• Knowledge of the Blockchain domain and passionate about gaining further breadth and depth of the domain.

Education/Experience

• PhD/MSc in Computer Science, AI, or a related field is a strong plus.
• 3+ years of work experience in engineering ML or AI solutions. 
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience with Python’s data stack with a focus on NLP, for example Spark, Spark-NLP, Regex, Pandas, Polars, Tensorflow, Pytorch, SpaCy, Transformers, Huggingface.
• Experience with augmenting LLM models with support of open source tooling, such as Langchain, Llamaindex, Vectorized Databases, or Graph Databases.
• Experience with AI agent systems, for example Autogen or CrewAI.
