This client is a well-known European shoe and leather products manufacturer and retailer with stores in 18 European countries. We provided white-labelled services for Positive Systems Solutions to offer complimentary IT outsourcing services under their brand.

The Backstory
The client’s Ireland branch migrated their sales operations from Microsoft Dynamics RMS/POS to LS One point-of-sale retail management solution with the help of Positive System Solutions, a Premiere Microsoft Partner in Ireland. In one of the stores the sales could not be handled directly by the LS One POS module but by a third-party application they had no control over.
The client wanted to consolidate sales data from this third-party into the retailer’s LS One system, as well as to integrate inventory and sales from the Irish branch into SAP, their global ERP.

The Challenge
Inventory and sales transactions are the key data of any retail business, and the correctness and real-time or near real-time availability of the data in all systems — from point of sale to ERP — is critical.
An additional client requirement was to have the sales and inventory data from the Irish branch exported into XML files with a maximum size of 5Mb.

The Solution
LS One already provides a flexible data replication with job scheduling module.
Code4Nord built on top of that:
- A new import job that could be run manually or automatically at the store level, which imports sales data from the third-party POS system
- A new export job that can run manually or automatically at the LS One Ireland HQ level, which exports sales and inventory data to a certain server location to be further processed and imported into the client’s ERP system SAP.
