The Backstory

The KeyBalance APP allows access from mobile devices to selected areas of the KeyBalance ERP system directly from mobile devices. This can be, for example, time registration, material registration, start and stop of tasks, customers or goods, and many more. It is something that is set up and adapted in the individual installation of KeyBalance ERP.

The Challenge

The KeyBalance APP can be tailored and put together exactly according to the end-customer needs, so they can experience better coherence and greater efficiency across the processes in their company. That makes the app rather a complex and demanding ERP.

Another challenge was the series of upgrades we had to do on top of the existing APP in order to make it compatible with the latest versions of Android and iOS.

The Solution

KeyBalance already had a mobile APP, so we continued to build on top of that:

Upgrading the APP to the latest versions of Cordova, Android, and iOS
Fixing threading and performance bugs that made the application slow
Developing new features such as
– Android – newland scanner to be able to handle many scans in a row
– Option to empty search fields in tablet mode
– Being able to display memo fields larger if needed
Suggesting various improvements and upgrades in different parts of the application etc.

The Team

Code4Nord provided a team consisting of two developers with strong mobile knowledge, led by a Danish programmer, which was head of development for the new KeyBalance application. The developers were directly managed by the Danish team lead, so everything was reported directly to the client, and met the client’s need.
